American Heart Association

Based on the vision of Al Salam International Hospital in pioneering the health services sector and providing health care within distinct professional values and maintaining quality standards, and as a continuation of the hospital’s role and responsibility towards society, the Medical Development Center at Al Salam International Hospital received the American Heart Association (AHA) certification as an accredited international training center for Life saving courses that are used to teach first aid, basic life support and CPR to health care providers and community members.
The American Heart Association (AHA) is a non-profit organization in the United States that funds cardiovascular medical research, educates people about healthy living, and promotes proper cardiac care in an effort to reduce disability and death caused by cardiovascular disease and stroke. It was originally established in New York City in 1924. It is famous for publishing cardiovascular disease and prevention guidelines, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) standards.

Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialization

The Medical Development Center at Al Salam International Hospital obtains accreditation from the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specializations as a Center for Continuing Medical Education (CPD PROVIDER)
The Kuwait Institute for Medical Specializations (KIMS) was established in 1984 by order of an Amiri Decree by H.H the Amir of Kuwait. Since then, KIMS has been responsible for the education and training of Medical Doctors and Dentists. KIMS is a leading educational institution dedicated to various professional medical training authorized by the Ministry of Health. As part of the Maintenance of Professional Competence (MPC) program, the Institute has been contributing to the development of medical services in the State of Kuwait through revision and Accreditation of Continuing Medical Education (CME) activitis.

Al Salam Hospital is the first hospital in Kuwait to adapt Lippincott Procedures one of Wolters Kluwer scientific resources for evaluation, recording and management of Nursing department skills and their theoretical evaluations, overseen by Medical Development Center. Which reflects Al Salam International Hospital constant pursue to provide high quality and evidence-based patient care
according to international guidelines by providing our nursing staff with evidence-based procedure guidance at the point of care.
Lippincott Procedures is a primary evidence-based procedures reference, providing access to step-by-step guides for over 1,800 procedures and skills for a wide variety of Nursing Practice areas, Physical Therapy and Respiratory Therapy. It provides complete instructions to perform a skills or procedure including: equipment, preparation guidelines, implementation steps, special considerations, patient teaching information, documentation, and references, and Video clips and images to clarify complex procedures.
