- Assist insulin-dependent patients in calculating insulin correction dose when needed.
- Calculation of the carbohydrates to insulin ratio and meal planning for diabetic patients.
- Glucose monitors, sensors, i-port usage, insulin storage (syringes, pens), etc. and appropriate injection techniques.
- Dealing with sick days and emergencies.
- Dealing with low blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia).
- Educating the patient about the complications of diabetes (short and long term) and the dates of the periodic examination.
